Working Together

How will you help me?

I offer a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever it might be that is impacting you. Our sessions will be very much driven by you and what it is that you would like to talk about. We may look at earlier relationships and experiences together to try and understand any patterns or imprint they may have left. At times I might offer information which could help to normalise any feelings that you may have and lead to a deeper understanding.

Our first session will be a little different from the others. It will be quite structured and involve me asking you some questions in order for me to get a better understanding of you, and what you hope to gain from our time together. Following on from this, our sessions will be free flowing and centred around what you want to bring to the session.

What will happen when I come and see you?

Our first session will be a little different from the others. It will be quite structured and involve me asking you some questions in order for me to get a better understanding of you, and what you hope to gain from our time together. Following on from this, our sessions will be free flowing and centred around what you want to bring to the session.

How long does each session last?

Each session lasts for 50 minutes and will usually take place at the same time each week, although I fully appreciate that there are times when flexibility may be needed.

How long will I need to come for?

This is very much guided by you. I can offer open-ended, short- or long-term therapy depending on what you feel that you need. We will regularly review our work together and go at a pace that feels right for you. Most therapy comes to a natural end, with the final session being an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the process undertaken.

How much does it cost?

The cost is £50 per session and is payable by BACS or cash in advance of the session.

Next steps...

Taking that first initial step can be daunting, I know, but I will do everything I can to put you at ease. I believe that the most important part any counselling process is for there to be a good relationship with the therapist, where you feel comfortable to talk openly about yourself.

If you think I might be the right counsellor for you then get in touch. I work Monday to Friday and will respond to emails and telephone calls on these days.
